For best care, machine wash gently in cold water, using a mild detergent, and avoid using bleach or fabric softeners.

Line dry out of direct sunlight, refrain from tumble drying to prevent shrinkage or fabric deterioration. If necessary, use a cool iron on the reverse side of the fabric to avoid damaging any prints or embellishments.

Avoid contact with rough surfaces or abrasive materials, as this may cause pilling or snags in the fabric. For long-term care, store the garment in a dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to direct heat or moisture.

Sustainability 🍃

Environmentally Responsible
Crafted from premium yarns made from recycled PET bottles, this polo is printed with advanced, high-quality, carcinogen-free inks. This ensures not only vibrant, lasting designs but also minimises harmful environmental impact throughout the printing process.

Sustainable Production
Tribute Collective is committed to sustainability by partnering with vetted local and international manufacturers. We produce limited quantities of each design, ensuring both exclusivity and preventing overproduction, which helps to reduce waste and minimise our environmental footprint.

Eco-Friendly Packaging
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our packaging, which is entirely plastic-free. We use kerbside-recyclable or home-compostable mailers to reduce landfill waste. All deliveries are managed by Australia Post, which actively supports carbon-offset projects aimed at reducing emissions and promoting a greener future.

About The Design

The Air Force Polo design brings together a collection of aircraft that represent key moments in Australia’s aviation history. A hand-drawn F-111C takes centre stage—introduced to Australia in 1973 and famously nicknamed “The Pig”—known for its speed, power, and distinctive swing-wing design that allowed it to exceed twice the speed of sound.

Alongside it, the F-35A Lightning II represents the modern era of air combat. As a multi-role fighter, it forms the backbone of Australia’s current air capability, combining stealth, advanced sensors, and electronic warfare systems. Also featured is the Boeing E-7A Wedgetail, an airborne early warning and control aircraft capable of monitoring vast areas and coordinating large-scale operations—often overseeing dozens of aircraft across extended missions.

A formation of Avro Lancaster bombers pays tribute to the Australians who served in Bomber Command during World War II. As one of the most significant heavy bombers of the era, it represents both the scale of the conflict and the contribution of Australian aircrew to the Allied effort. The Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules highlights decades of transport and logistical support. In service with the RAAF for over 60 years, it remains one of the most versatile and enduring aircraft in Australia’s fleet.

On the back, the Bell UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) appears in detailed illustration. Known as the “Bushranger” during the Vietnam War, it played a critical role in troop transport, close support, medical evacuation, and search and rescue—becoming one of the most recognisable aircraft of that conflict. Completing the story is the S.E.5A, a World War I fighter aircraft that reflects the early foundations of Australia’s military aviation. As part of Britain’s imperial contribution to the formation of the RAAF in 1921, it represents the beginning of a legacy that continues today.

The polo also features the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) motto, ‘Through Adversity to the Stars’. The original latin phrase, Per Adua Ad Astra, is believed to have been inspired by Sir Henry Rider Haggard’s novel The People of the Mist. It was first approved for use by the Royal Flying Corps on 15 March 1913 and has since come to symbolise the journey of Royal Australian Air Force personnel. When adopted by the RAAF in 1929, it was commonly understood to mean ‘Through Adversity to the Stars’. The official Air Force translation, ‘Through Struggle to the Stars’, was formally endorsed in 2002 during the redevelopment of the RAAF Memorial in Canberra; however, the original interpretation, ‘Through Adversity to the Stars’, remains more widely recognised today.

Together, these elements create a considered and respectful design—one that connects past and present, honouring the evolution of the RAAF through aircraft that defined each era.
